I've had a mail-related challenge going for a while now, and since I have started up this blog I figured I'd share with all of you. (I feel a bit strange assuming anyone even reads this, but hey, it's worth a shot, and maybe someday I'll have a ton of followers who really can help me out...) It's pretty simple really, but could take a while to complete, and I still have a ways to go. I want to see if I can receive a postcard from each of the 50 United States. So far friends and family have been the ones in on my challenge, but [at the advice of a fellow blogger] I decided to put up a post about it.
States listed below are those that I still need postcards from to complete my challenge, and I would be so happy and appreciative to any and all that can help me out with this! So whether you live in/visit/have friends or family in one of the states below, send me a written on/stamped postcard from there and you'll be my new best friend. Here are the 'guidelines' for the challenge:
1. See if your state (or a state you're visiting) is on my list below.
2. Comment on this post by letting me know you have something to send, include your e-mail address, and I will send you my address in return.
3. Send your postcard (include the phrase 'food.fun.post. 50 State Challenge' somewhere on the card, along with your message) and check back here to see it posted on the blog! :)
Thanks guys! P.S. - I'll be updating this list as I receive cards to make sure it is current.

Hello there,
ReplyDeleteI have something to send for your 50 state postcard challenge. My email is
stardust4821@yahoo.com. I also have a question. Would you prefer the postcards mailed "naked" or enclosed in an envelope?
I also have a mail art / letter writing blog. It's called "Just Letter Rip." Check it out if you like.

ReplyDeleteI just wrote you a letter earlier this week... didn't know you had a blog! I found it from Goodnight Little Spoon, and have now linked it on the sidebar of mine. I haven't even read your entries thoroughly yet but am so glad you're blogging! Good for you! Hooray for more mail blogs!
Hello-
ReplyDeleteGreat idea to get more postcards. :) And I love that you combine food & letters in your blog - I'm a college student just starting to figure out how to feed myself, so I love looking at food blogs right now. ;] I'm also currently in Minnesota which I see is on your list! You want state-themed postcards, right? I need an excuse to buy Minnesota postcards. My e-mail is crowned.girl [at] gmail.com
Thank you all for reading and offering to send! E-mails coming out shortly... :)

Hi,
ReplyDeleteI can send you a postcard from Michigan. Do you want a "real" postcard (you know one you buy at a tourist shop)? Or do you want mail art that includes something about the state? I am in Michigan, by the way.
You can email me at vholdwic[at]hughes.net
Do you want a postcard that has my state on it, or just a regular old postcard?
ReplyDeleteI'm in Colorado, email me your address and preferences and we can go from there.
I can send something over from Maryland

ReplyDeleteWhat, no D.C? We're not *technically* a state, but our postmark is endangered: http://www.norton.house.gov/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=697&Itemid=0
ReplyDeleteI'm at ashley.e.bowen [at] gmail [dot] com
Here is an odd question for you... do you need the postcards to be postmarked from the state in question? I actually have postcards from three of your currently missing states and would be happy to send them to you, but of course they'd bear my usual Rhode Island postmark. Let me know.
ReplyDelete@Missive: When I first started the challenge a while back I was hoping to have them all postmarked from the actual state but as the months have gone on I've realized I really just want a piece of the state, and that is the postcard itself. People have been sending me postcards from a certain state that are postmarked from a different state and that's perfectly fine. I am grateful for anything anyone can send my way! :)
ReplyDeleteI could work with my brother on getting one to you from Wisconsin :) I just moved out of the state last year. I'm sure he owes me a favor or something.
